Applied Kinesiology
Applied Kinesiology (A.K.) uses detailed muscle testing to evaluate the function of the body. This approach complements standard chiropractic analysis, physical diagnosis and laboratory procedures in designing an optimum health care program for each patient.
Applied Kinesiology is utilized by naturally-oriented doctors all over the world, including chiropractors, osteopaths, medical doctors, dentists, acupuncturists and naturopaths. The International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK) has approximately 2000 members who use and teach Applied Kinesiology worldwide.
With Applied Kinesiology, our doctors can determine which muscles are out of balance and use simple manual techniques to restore normal muscle function. AK includes gentle cranial therapy, balancing the temporo-mandibular joint (TMJ), pelvic and spinal adjusting, extremity adjusting, reflex and soft tissue work such as fascial release, acupuncture analysis and treatment, lymphatic drainage techniques and more.
Muscle testing can also be used as a screening procedure to help identify needed nutrients and foods which may not be well tolerated.
All of our doctors are certified in Applied Kinesiology. Dr. Conable is a Certified Teaching Diplomate of the ICAK and a member of the International Examining Board of ICAK. This Board gives Diplomate certification examinations in 4 languages around the world. Dr. Conable has presented many research papers at ICAK meetings and has published AK- related research in peer-reviewed journals. She is now retired from practice but continues to teach full time at Logan University.
